In the summer period, trucks will only operate from 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM and on cooler days. Special road signs have already been installed across the country. The ban is introduced due to rising air temperatures, which cause the asphalt concrete pavement on roads to heat up and deform. According to weather forecasters, the hot and sunny weather will last at least until the end of this week. In addition, they predict a hot summer.
The restriction is introduced on the movement of heavy goods vehicles on most public roads. The press service of Ukravtodor stated: "The movement of vehicles with a total mass of more than 24 tons or an axle load of more than 7 tons will be prohibited on certain roads from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM."
This decision to restrict the daytime movement of a certain category of transport is introduced in the territories of Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
