At the moment, the exact cause of the accident has not been established. Nevertheless, given the adverse weather conditions — fog and black ice — it is quite likely that they were the decisive factor causing the truck driver to lose control of the vehicle.
This version is also supported by eyewitnesses of the incident. According to them, the truck's trailer began to skid. The driver failed to straighten the vehicle, and the skid only intensified.
As a result, the truck broke through the crash barrier and partially drove into the oncoming lane. At the same time, the truck overturned onto its side, and at the moment of the fall, it crushed a passenger car. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Rescuers, an ambulance, and police officers promptly arrived at the scene of the accident. The crash caused a serious traffic jam, which is still observed on Telihy Street.
