The draft state budget of Ukraine for the next year, 2014, includes UAH 15.229 billion, but only UAH 3.248 billion is expected to be allocated directly for the repair and maintenance of public roads. According to experts, such funds will not even be enough to patch potholes on all local roads, so the Cabinet of Ministers has promised to seek additional sources of funding.

However, even if they manage to find another UAH 10 billion, which the government is counting on, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov does not expect quality roads to appear in the country soon. In his words, even this amount will be insufficient to bring the road sector out of the crisis it is currently in.
