To make the ZAZ-968 a little rocket, its engine was boosted to 60 hp. The pistons and flywheel had to be lightened, and new valves with titanium spring retainers were installed.
In addition, the Zaporozhets was lightened as much as possible. Everything unnecessary was removed from the cabin, including the trim, rear seat, and sound insulation. Instead, sports bucket seats and a tubular roll cage appeared.
Now the ZAZ-968 easily reaches 140 km/h and accelerates faster. Moreover, the ZAZ-968's suspension was reinforced, wider tires and additional lighting were installed.
