The flagship minivan Espace, which has been in production for three decades, has changed its format and has now become a crossover that retains the practicality of a minivan. The model received a fresh design with smooth contours, an interior that is easily transformable and comfortable, as well as a center console that seems to float in the air. Versions for both five and seven seats are available.

The Espace crossover has impressive dimensions: length is 4.85 m (for both seating options), width is 1.87 m. The height, equal to 1.68 m, which is 63 mm less than that of the current Espace, together with a high beltline, gives the car a dynamic look. Standard equipment includes a panoramic Lumière windshield with an area of 2.8 m², which is combined with a fixed glass roof above the front row of seats, providing access to natural light.

The car is equipped with the Renault Multi-Sense® system, which controls the interaction of all crossover components: 4Control® chassis, electronic adjustment of shock absorbers, steering, powertrain, EDC gearbox, optics, and engine sound. The driver can choose one of four preset modes - Eco, Comfort, Neutral, or Sport, as well as a fully individual Perso mode, where all interior parameters are configured:
• interior lighting (green, blue, white, red, and purple colors are available);
• design of information on multimedia displays;
• acoustic background of the engine;
• operating modes of seats with massage;
• climate control settings.

The new Espace became the first production Renault model built on the modular CMF (Common Module Family) platform. Lightweight materials are widely used in the design: doors and hood are made of aluminum, front fenders are made of Noryl plastic, and the tailgate is made of thermoplastic.
Under the hood of the new Espace, three variants of 1.6-liter turbo engines are offered: one gasoline and a pair of diesel. Their fuel efficiency is complemented by good aerodynamics and the low weight of the car itself.
