In November 2024, the company opened its first Lada dealership in Dubai, and now one of the first Granta model cars was spotted on the highways of Abu Dhabi. The sedan in a gray metallic shade drove with license plates belonging to the distributor Pearl Motors, which indicates the official supply of this car to the country.
At the end of 2024, this distributor was engaged in bringing cars into compliance with local legislation, so the imported Granta likely participated in these procedures.
Since the UAE is known for strict requirements for car quality, it will be interesting to see whether Lada can take root in a market where a car is more of a status indicator than just a means of transportation.
