A draft law No. 10441 has appeared in the Verkhovna Rada, aimed at bringing order to the use of electric transport. The document proposes specific norms: a speed limit of up to 20 km/h, permission to drive only from the age of 14, and a ban on transporting passengers unless it is provided for by the manufacturer.

Routes of movement are also separately specified: the main option is bicycle paths. If they are absent, it is allowed to move along the roadside, sidewalk, or the edge of the roadway. It is strictly forbidden to get behind the wheel of an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol or drugs — the fine for this reaches UAH 680.

In general, non-compliance with the rules provides for a penalty of UAH 340. If the violation caused an emergency situation, the amount increases to UAH 850, or you will have to work up to 40 hours of community service.

Thus, draft law No. 10441 attempts to regulate the movement of electric transport, turning it into a regulated sphere. This means more control and safety, but at the same time limits the freedom of those who are used to riding fast. It seems that the era of chaotic riding on electric scooters is gradually becoming a thing of the past.
