The appearance of the updated model will change due to different headlights, more expressive bumpers, and a redesigned radiator grille. The rear lights will also get a new shape, and they will be connected by an updated chrome insert. As seen in previously published spy shots, the interior of the restyled Superb will feature a new instrument cluster and a large multimedia system screen. The model will borrow some electronic assistants and safety systems from the Passat.
The engine lineup will include a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that can deactivate two cylinders under light load. For the European market, a hybrid modification will also be provided: its powertrain will combine a 1.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit and an electric motor. The total power of such a version will reach 220 horsepower, and the car will be able to travel about 55 kilometers on pure electric power.
