After the searches conducted on August 21, 2018, by the Security Service of Ukraine officers at the company's offices, the company appealed to prosecutorial supervision bodies in accordance with the legislative procedure. The purpose of the appeal was to verify the legality of the actions of the SBU investigators and operatives, as well as to clarify the grounds for opening criminal proceedings. In addition, following the company's complaints, the court found that during the searches, the investigators illegally seized part of the property and ordered them to return it, which was subsequently done.
"Our work in the market is transparent and complies with the norms of Ukrainian and European law. For over 15 years, the company has undergone international audits annually, so we consider the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office to close the case as natural," commented Vitaliy Antonov, President of "Galnaftogaz Concern".
The termination of these proceedings is significant not only for the company, which suffered notable losses in reputation and property due to the opening of the case and investigative actions, but also for strengthening trust in Ukraine from foreign investors and creditors. It also contributes to improving the investment climate in the country and creating favorable conditions for honest business conduct.
