The ceremonial handover of the cars took place in early September 2017 in Odessa. The purchase of Renault Sandero Stepway for Odessa police was financed by the regional council under the "Safe Odeshchyna" program. The cars are intended for response groups of the patrol police in the Odessa region. It is planned that such reinforcement of the Odessa police fleet will make it more mobile.
The supplied Renault Sandero Stepway are front-wheel drive cars with a diesel engine of 1.46 liters and a manual gearbox. As additional equipment, the cars are equipped with a signal-loudspeaker device and a car radio station.
The car supplier is the Renault AIS Avtoyug car center, which is part of the AIS Group of Companies, which has been manufacturing and supplying cars for various purposes for the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more than 15 years.
The Renault AIS Avtoyug car center won the tender for the supply of cars based on open bidding in the Prozoro system. The purchase budget amounted to UAH 30.74 million.
