The production line will be suspended from August 20 to 29. The reason for the stoppage is a dispute and legal proceedings with one of the component suppliers.
The disagreements between the parties arose over financial issues and payment for supplied parts. The court hearing is scheduled for August 31. In addition, due to this conflict, short-time work may be introduced for employees at the plants in Emden, Zwickau, Braunschweig, and Kassel.
According to Automotive News, this dispute could result in a loss of profit for Volkswagen in the amount of 40 million euros.
