The model's premiere will take place in early 2018. The main competitors of the new product will be the Suzuki Vitara and Honda HR-V. It is not yet known whether the new-generation ASX will appear in Russia.
Judging by spy photos, the front part of the car will resemble the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV II concept, which was presented last year. Most likely, the production version of the crossover will become larger than its predecessor. The engine range of the car will be expanded with new gasoline and diesel turbo engines. Several hybrid modifications of the crossover are also expected. 
Let us remind you that the power plant of the XR-PHEV II prototype consisted of an internal combustion engine MIVEC, an electric motor, and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery located under the floor to lower the vehicle's center of gravity. Total power is 163 horsepower.
Last week, Mitsubishi presented the conceptual crossover XM Concept. The press service of the Japanese brand said that the new product combines the features of a compact crossover and a minivan. The design of the SUV resembles the eX electric crossover concept, which was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. The new product features roof rails, different taillights, and different wheel rims. The car's interior received black-and-white trim with silver inserts, as well as a wide raised central console.
