Experts have concluded that the spread of self-driving cars, along with the growing popularity of car sharing, will eliminate the contradiction between alcohol consumption and driving, which will have a positive effect on alcohol sales.

Today, the global alcohol market is estimated at 1.5 trillion dollars. If autonomous cars become a common sight on the roads, each person will drink on average one more glass per week. As a result, annual alcohol consumption will increase by 0.8 percent. By 2025, this will lead to an increase in the monetary volume of this market by approximately 98 billion dollars.

Analysts from the American company IHS Automotive predict that by 2025, 600 thousand autonomous vehicles will be in operation worldwide. The most intensive increase in the fleet of such cars is expected in the period from 2025 to 2035. During these years, the number of autonomous vehicles will grow by 43 percent annually, and by the end of this period, their number will reach 21 million units.
