The photos of the car were published by Auto Express. In Europe, sales of the new model will begin in the second half of 2017.
The model is built on the new MQB A0 platform. Thanks to this, the Polo's interior will become noticeably more spacious. The car will receive shorter front and rear overhangs, as well as a longer wheelbase. The car will also be equipped with new wheel rims in the style of the Golf GTI and an exhaust system with two tailpipes.
The driver will have access to a new infotainment system with a large touchscreen display and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is possible that top modifications of the model will be equipped with a fully digital instrument panel.
The engine range of the new model will include a 1.0-liter gasoline engine with three cylinders. The engine power will be about 80 horsepower. Versions of this unit with 100 and 115 horsepower will also be available. Customers will also be offered a 1.5-liter unit with an output of 140 and 160 horsepower. Among diesel units – 90-, 110- and 130-horsepower engines. The engines will work in conjunction with five- and six-speed manual gearboxes. Optionally, customers will be offered a seven-speed robotic transmission. Later, a hybrid modification of the model is also expected.
