The new device from KW connects to the sedan's electronic control unit via special connectors, and control is carried out remotely through a free smartphone app. The ground clearance of the S8 plus can be reduced by up to 30 millimeters, with an adjustment accuracy of one millimeter.
As stated by KW, installation of the module takes only a few minutes. The unit can also be easily removed "at any time," which is relevant for those who lease a car.
The system will be offered for the sporty version of the Audi S8 plus, as well as for other variants of the A8 model, if they are equipped with adaptive air suspension. The price of the equipment is still kept secret.
Under the hood of the Audi S8 plus is a four-liter gasoline engine with two turbochargers, producing 605 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration to one hundred kilometers per hour takes 3.8 seconds — 0.4 seconds faster than the standard S8. The top speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour, but with the optional Dynamic Package it increases to 305 kilometers per hour.
