Already in June 2016, his place will be taken by the current chairman of the board of directors and executive director of the company, Osamu Masuko. He will remain in these positions until Nissan Motor completes the process of buying out a stake in Mitsubishi.
Earlier it became known that Nissan had agreed to acquire a third of Mitsubishi's shares. The fuel scandal seriously undermined Mitsubishi's position in the Japanese market, causing a decrease in demand for its cars and a fall in the value of shares. According to analysts, it was the depreciation of shares that attracted Nissan's attention to this deal.
