The recall campaign affected vehicles manufactured before March 26, 2016. The cause was a problem with the rear seats. During tests, Tesla engineers found that the third row of seats could fold down spontaneously while the crossover was in motion.

It is worth recalling that the production version of the electric crossover was presented at the end of September 2015. The model stood out with doors that open upward — they were called "falcon wings," as well as the longest range among electric crossovers — almost 400 kilometers.

The first examples of the Tesla Model X were produced in the Signature trim. This version received two electric motors: a front one with 262 horsepower and a rear one with 510 horsepower. The manufacturer claimed acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, and the top speed reached 250 kilometers per hour.
