During nighttime runs at the test site, the organization's staff tested 31 vehicle models equipped with various lighting systems. Specialists studied a total of 80 headlight modifications.
As part of the IIHS check, the operation of low and high beams, the direction of the light beam on straight sections and during maneuvering were analyzed, and special attention was paid to testing adaptive headlights equipped with a rotary mechanism and an automatic lighting mode switching function.
The test results showed that the experts awarded the highest rating to only one vehicle — the fresh Toyota Prius v hybrid.
