Experts of the publication noted advanced approaches and technologies in the creation of electric elements of the car.
«We give this award to those who, in our opinion, challenged conventions, whose developments can become a point for development in the future», - commented the editor-in-chief of Popular Science, Cliff Ransom.

As Honda claims, the main feature of the NSX is the unique unity of man and car, thanks to which the supercar instantly reacts to any actions of the driver. The creation of the new generation took almost three years, with teams of designers and engineers from the Honda development center in Raymond, Ohio, taking part in the work.
The new model will be equipped with a biturbo DOHC V6 engine and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), as well as three electric motors, one of which has a power of 47 hp and helps the engine during sharp accelerations. Other electric motors located on the front axle transmit energy to the right and left wheels. The power of each unit is 36 hp.

The new 9-speed DCT transmission provides instant gear changes in exact accordance with engine speed. The rear electric motor with direct drive, located between the power unit and the transmission, supports acceleration, braking and gear shifting. The NSX uses front electric motors for dynamic torque distribution, as well as to improve the acceleration and braking characteristics of the supercar. As a result, the driver can enjoy the absence of delay when starting from a standstill and control that anticipates the pilot's desires.
