The round headlights of the Jeep Renegade and the compact dimensions of the square body make this American-Italian SUV resemble the successor of the samurai lineage - the Suzuki Jimny. But this does not spoil the image of the new model at all, but on the contrary, it inspires confidence.
The small displacement of the installed engines also evokes an involuntary comparison with the Japanese. But unlike the latter, the "Fiat" engines are modern and allow significant power to be obtained from a small displacement.
Thus, the 1.4-liter turbocharged Multiair engine, depending on tuning, allows you to get 140 and 170 horsepower. For those who prefer a naturally aspirated engine, a 184-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark engine is offered.
Diesel versions will be represented by a two-liter power unit of various power, with a maximum of 140 hp. The transmission is offered for every taste: a regular manual, a robot with two clutches, and an automatic with nine gears.
The potential off-road capabilities of the Renegade are impressive, and for off-road enthusiasts, the Trailhawk model is offered, which has a 20-millimeter increased ground clearance (220 mm), wheel articulation reaches 205 millimeters, and the depth of fordable water is 480 millimeters. The approach and departure angles are also at a high level - 30.5 and 34.3 degrees, respectively.
The Jeep Renegade will be assembled in Italy, and the new model will go on sale in 2015.
