As the German publication AutoBild writes, Volkswagen has not yet commented on the information about the departure of the head of Skoda. As AutoBild notes, Vahland was considered one of the possible successors to Martin Winterkorn, who left the post of head of VW in September. Vahland spent more than 25 years at the company.

Recall that VW was at the center of a scandal due to a software malfunction in cars with diesel engines. The US authorities ordered VW to recall 500 thousand cars from the American market. The German automaker faces a fine of $18 billion.
