The project was developed by Matthew Weaver, Vice President of Nissan's European design studio. As a source of inspiration, he chose the very first Nissan Silvia from 1964, which was produced in a run of just 554 units.

The modern coupe is in many ways reminiscent of its famous ancestor. It has a similar silhouette, and the design is dominated by sharp lines.

"The Silvia was ahead of its time, distinguished by calmness and restraint. The car was solid and would look good on today's roads. It is also a great example of what is expected from a global product: high quality and universal appeal," emphasized Matthew Weaver.

So far, Nissan has not yet given the green light to the project. Although, of course, such a retro electric car would have a certain demand.
