The manufacturer announced that it will unveil the new model in early 2022. Nissan refrained from publishing photos but did reveal the dimensions – it will be 3395 mm long, 1475 mm wide, and 1655 mm high. That is, in size, the new model will be smaller than, for example, Chevrolet Spark.
The brand did not disclose the technical specifications but noted that the upcoming electric car will offer “instant acceleration” and “smooth driving.” It will also have a very “quiet cabin” and many new electronic assistants.

Nissan assured that the electric vehicle will have a range “sufficient to meet the daily needs of Japanese drivers” (the car will get a modest 20 kWh battery). In addition, the car will feature bidirectional charging, allowing it to “power” a home in the event of rolling blackouts or natural disasters.
The estimated price of the budget electric car will be 2 million yen, equivalent to just under $18,000. Nissan, by the way, is developing it together with Mitsubishi.
It is worth noting that Nissan currently has two electric vehicles – namely, the Leaf hatchback (which costs almost twice as much as the announced new model) and the Ariya crossover.
