The new Hyundai Bayon crossover is based on the same architecture as the i20 hatchback. The car's dimensions are 4180 mm in length, 1775 mm in width, and 1490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2580 mm. Thus, in terms of size, the model is almost as large as the Hyundai Kona.

The exterior of the Hyundai Bayon 2021 echoes the styling of the larger Tucson: sharp body lines, expressive side relief, and a massive radiator grille. The LED lighting is arranged in two tiers. The rear is adorned with curved taillights integrated into the rear pillars.

The interior also shows kinship with the Tucson — for example, the four-spoke steering wheel. The instrument panel is fully digital, and the multimedia system screen can be up to 10.25 inches diagonally. The trunk volume is stated at 411 liters, increasing to 1205 liters with the rear seats folded down.

The equipment list of the Hyundai Bayon 2021 includes a navigation system, a Bose audio system, and a wireless phone charging function. In addition, an extensive set of assistants is provided: emergency braking system, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a driver fatigue sensor.

The engine range of the Hyundai Bayon is borrowed from the i20: a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 84 horsepower, as well as turbocharged one-liter units with outputs of 100 and 120 horsepower. They are paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Drive is only to the front axle.
