German colleagues believe that the future Skoda electric car will be a 4-door 5-seat hatchback comparable in size to the Skoda Fabia (about 4 meters long). It should also inherit the design from the latter: differences will mainly be reduced to the front part, where instead of the traditional radiator grille there will be a plug in the body color.

As for the technical part, the electric analogue of the Fabia will be built on the MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group – the German auto giant created it specifically for electric vehicles (the electric VW ID.3 hatchback and the ID.4 electric crossover are already based on this chassis).

It is expected that the hatchback will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of about 35 kWh; it will be enough for about 250 km of range.

As you can see, the characteristics promise to be modest, but the price will also be attractive – up to 20,000 euros. The cheapest Skoda electric car will appear in 2024: for now, the Czechs are focused on increasing production volumes of the Enyaq iV electric crossover (pictured above).
