As Autocar reports, the new generation Peugeot 308 will be offered not only in traditional versions, but also in versions with partial electrification, and will also receive a "hot" modification with all-wheel drive. The development of the "hot" hatchback will be handled by the new division Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE).

Such a sports car will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and two electric units installed on each axle. The total output of such a system will exceed 300 horsepower, and the main rival, apparently, will be the new Volkswagen Golf R. The sports hybrid version will receive a lowered suspension with stiffer settings and reinforced brake mechanisms.

According to preliminary data, the premiere of the new generation Peugeot 308 will take place no earlier than 2022, so official information about the future model should not be expected yet.
