The Polestar plant, located in the industrial district of Chengdu, began operations in late summer last year. The enterprise, which is called "one of the most environmentally friendly production facilities in China," already assembles the Polestar 1 model, and now the electric fastback Polestar 2 has been added to it. The plant's capacity allows for the production of up to 500 thousand cars annually, with some of the cars going to the domestic Chinese market and the rest being sent abroad.

The Polestar 2 is based on the CMA platform developed by Volvo. The electric car is equipped with a pair of electric motors producing a total of 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque, powered by a 78 kilowatt-hour battery. Acceleration to one hundred kilometers per hour takes the fastback less than five seconds, and the range according to the WLTP cycle reaches 500 kilometers.

China is gradually recovering from the crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic. By March 24, 2020, nine out of ten people infected with COVID-2019 in the country had already recovered, and the total number of infected outside Hubei province amounted to 13,370 people. In the province itself, 67.8 thousand cases of infection were recorded.
