The world premiere of the racing versions Leon Competición and e-Racer will take place simultaneously with the debut of the road-going model Cupra Leon. The base modifications of the hatchback and estate will receive a hybrid powertrain built around a turbocharged 1.4 TSI engine, similar to the one used in the Formentor crossover. The total output of this system will be 245 horsepower. The versions with the R index are likely to be more powerful — around 300 horsepower.

The track hatchback Leon Competición will be equipped with a 2.0 TFSI engine producing 340 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque. Some exterior panels of the car, including the mirrors, air intakes on the hood and side parts, as well as the insert on the steering wheel, were manufactured using 3D printing. The electric version e-Racer, first shown in 2018, will receive a powertrain with four electric motors, whose peak power reaches 680 horsepower.
