The fifth-generation SUV was built on a new platform. Compared to its predecessor, the Escalade has grown in size. Thus, the length of the car is 5382 mm, width - 2059 mm, and height 1948 millimeters. The wheelbase is 3071 millimeters. The car's design has been updated in the style of the new XT6. The SUV features a new massive radiator grille, narrow LED headlights, many chrome elements, 22-inch alloy wheels, and vertical daytime running lights.
Inside, the new model features a curved OLED display with a diagonal of more than 38 inches. The brand's press service said that the pixel density of the new display is twice that of 4K TVs. Instead of the usual automatic transmission lever, the SUV has a joystick selector on the center tunnel.
The SUV is equipped with an advanced Surround Vision surround-view system, as well as a night vision system that uses an infrared camera to detect objects, animals, and pedestrians and displays an infrared image of the road ahead on the instrument panel screen. For rear passengers, two 12.6-inch touchscreens are offered as an option. Top versions of the Escalade are equipped with an AKG Studio Reference audio system with 36 speakers. The SUV features a three-zone climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, and an interior mirror that receives images from a special camera.
The trunk volume of the new model is 722 liters. With the rear seats folded, this figure increases to 3089 liters. The new model is equipped with an improved Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. It operates based on a front Lidar radar and a set of cameras providing a surround view. In addition, a GPS navigator and mapping service help with spatial orientation. The electronics control steering, accelerator, and braking system when the car is moving on the highway. The system can also automatically change lanes, for example, to overtake a car.
The new-generation SUV is powered by a 6.2-liter gasoline engine. The unit's power is 426 horsepower. The engine works in conjunction with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Escalade can also be purchased with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. This engine produces 281 hp and 623 Nm of torque.
Sales of the new model on the local market will start this summer. Prices for the new model will be announced later. Assembly will be established at the plant in Arlington (Texas).
