In spy shots, the pre-production version of the Escalade has already shown its appearance without camouflage. At the same time, the company officially showed only the front part of the interior, where an OLED instrument panel and a multimedia screen are installed, with a total diagonal of 38 inches, as well as the front of the SUV with narrow optics and elongated vertical sections of daytime running lights. As can be seen from the teasers, visually the new model has become closer to the current Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, as well as to the XT6 crossover.
From a technical standpoint, the luxury Cadillac SUV will also be related to the Tahoe and Suburban. It will be built on the GMT T1XX platform, familiar from the Chevrolet Silverado pickup, and will abandon the solid rear axle, getting an air suspension instead. The appearance of a diesel engine is not excluded. The engine lineup may also include a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 from the CT6 sedan, as well as hybrid and electric powertrains. The powerful naturally aspirated 6.2 V8 will likely remain on the list of available engines.
The Escalade is an important model for Cadillac. It was this SUV that became a pioneer among the brand's cars in installing fully LED optics and adaptive Magnetic Ride Control suspension, which at the time of its debut in 2009 was considered the fastest. It was also the first in the class of luxury full-size SUVs to receive a hybrid modification (2009) and a front center airbag (2015).
