The restyled car will be slightly longer than its predecessor and will feature a modernized front bumper, modified for pedestrian safety. The radiator grille will be executed in the style of the Atlas Cross Sport coupe-crossover, and the LED headlights will become slightly narrower.

According to unofficial data, the base equipment of the updated Atlas will include an eight-inch touchscreen multimedia display, a sport steering wheel with a flattened lower section, as well as a wireless charging station for smartphones. In addition, the crossover will be available with adaptive cruise control with full stop and go function.
The engine lineup will not undergo changes. It will include a two-liter turbo-four producing 238 hp and 349 Nm of torque, as well as a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 delivering 280 hp and 360 Nm.
It is expected that the restyled Volkswagen Atlas will debut in February 2020 at the Chicago Auto Show, and its sales will start in May.
