The British manufacturer will join forces with the craftsmen of the Mulliner studio, which is responsible for bespoke orders at the court. Unusual and expensive materials will be used in the interior design. For example, the interior will feature inserts made of ancient poplar with an unusual leaf shape, complemented by copper elements.
The new model will be a large car with a barchetta body. Its design will reflect the features of the electric concept Bentley EXP 100 GT (pictured), which is six meters long. This show car was presented in the summer of this year, when the brand celebrated its centenary.
Under the hood of the convertible will be a familiar gasoline engine — a six-liter W12 with two turbochargers. The same engine is installed on the current Flying Spur and Continental GT, where it develops 635 horsepower and 900 N·m of torque. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch robotic gearbox. It is expected that the new model will be lighter and more dynamic than the current Continental, which accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
In the near future, Bentley plans to show the concept of this project to a narrow circle of its most important customers. According to available information, production of the ultra-luxurious convertible will begin in 2021, and the production run will be limited to twelve units.
