The new Audi RS6 Avant is equipped with a four-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers, operating in conjunction with a starter-generator and a 48-volt onboard electrical system using a "mild hybrid" scheme. The engine develops 600 hp and 800 Nm of torque, which is 40 hp and 100 Nm more than the output of the predecessor's unit.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive Quattro system. The wagon can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor), and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

With the optional Dynamic Package, the electronic limiter is moved to 280 km/h, and when ordering the car with the Dynamic Package Plus, the maximum speed increases to 305 km/h. The wagon can also be equipped with a mechanical center differential capable of transferring up to 70% and 85% of torque to the front and rear axles, respectively, when necessary.

For the first time, adaptive air suspension has been included in the standard equipment list of the Audi RS6 Avant. Additionally, the base car is equipped with an active rear differential and a fully steerable chassis with rear-wheel steering to increase stability at high speeds and maneuverability at low speeds.

For an additional fee, the proprietary Dynamic Ride Control system with electronically controlled adjustable dampers is available, as well as a torque vectoring function.

The interior is largely borrowed from the standard new-generation A6 Avant wagon. Its main features are a fully digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch diagonal, as well as two large central touchscreens.

European sales of the new Audi RS6 Avant will start in early 2020. Prices for the new model will be announced later.
