The final stage of resource testing of the pre-production UAZ Patriot with an automatic transmission starts in Ulyanovsk. As reported by the plant's press service, over two and a half weeks, test pilots will cover more than 10,000 kilometers and visit seven more cities.
The company confirmed that the new version of the UAZ Patriot will be equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission 6L50 Punch Powerglide, developed jointly by French Punch Powertrain and American General Motors. Previously, this unit could be found on Cadillac CTS sedans and Chevrolet Colorado pickups. It is expected that such a gearbox will appear not only on the Patriot but also on its cargo version, the Pickup.
The maximum parameters of the six-speed transmission are 320 horsepower and 500 N·m of torque. It will be paired with a modernized ZMZ PRO engine producing 150 horsepower and 235 newton-meters.
