Immediately after the premiere, the new model will enter the European market. As Motor1 reports, citing an informed source, the main rivals of the model will be the Audi Q2 and BMW X2.
The crossover is based on the A-Class platform. It will retain the status of the most compact SUV in the German manufacturer's lineup. Initial modifications are equipped with a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine, created in partnership with the Renault–Nissan alliance. A similar power unit is used on the Renault Arkana, where its output reaches 150 hp and 250 Nm of maximum torque. In addition, the engine lineup includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
The powertrains will be combined with both manual and automatic transmissions. Buyers will be offered versions with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Later, high-performance modifications from the AMG division are expected. The flagship version of the crossover will receive about 420 horsepower.
The driver will be able to use the MBUX multimedia system, which first appeared in the fourth-generation A-Class. The system with artificial intelligence is capable of learning independently and over time recognizing even complex voice requests.
