The Japanese automaker has repeatedly showcased concept models in recent years that were supposed to hint at a future production product. For example, in the fall of 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda showed the experimental Urban EV, and two years later, in 2019, at the Geneva Motor Show, they presented the E Prototype, which was dubbed a "near-production-ready" car.

The new model has door handles flush with the pillars, and exterior mirrors are replaced by cameras. Instead of the usual radiator grille, a screen is installed that can display various messages. Whether such a solution will be available on the production version remains a mystery for now.

The Honda e will be based on a new architecture created specifically for electric vehicles. The model is expected to have a range of about 200 kilometers without recharging.
