As Mayer reported, the green versions of Skoda will feature a special LED strip that will connect the headlights and visually split the radiator grille into two halves.
By the end of this year, Skoda intends to showcase its debut production electric vehicle, built on the basis of the Citigo city car. The range of such a car will be more than 300 kilometers. Other characteristics remain undisclosed for now.
Next year, the Czech brand will present its first production crossover with an electric powertrain. Its basis will be the Vision iV concept (pictured), which was showcased at the recent Geneva Motor Show. The new model is based on the modular MEB platform, which Volkswagen Group developed specifically for fully electric vehicles.
Other technical details of the crossover are not yet revealed. As for the prototype, it features a pair of electric motors with a combined output of 306 horsepower, driving both axles and providing a top speed of 180 km/h. The batteries are sufficient for approximately 500 kilometers of travel, and the battery charge can be replenished to 80% in half an hour.
Soon, Skoda will also announce special charging devices for home use. The compact station can be placed in a garage or near a parking spot. The development of such chargers is carried out jointly with Volkswagen — the Germans have already shown a similar device under the name Volks-Wallbox.
In the near future, Skoda will also introduce separate home charging stations designed for its electric vehicles. The small device will be installed in a garage or near a parking place. Work on them is ongoing in partnership with Volkswagen, which has previously demonstrated similar chargers known as Volks-Wallbox.
In total, by the end of 2022, Skoda plans to release more than 30 new models, with ten of them featuring a hybrid or fully electric powertrain.
