Externally, the Scala resembles the Vision RS concept car shown in Paris in the fall. The model is built on a modified modular MQB platform. The hatchback is 4362 mm long, 1793 mm wide, and 1471 mm high. The wheelbase is 2649 mm.

In terms of interior dimensions, the Scala is close to the "older" Octavia model. For example, the knee room is 73 mm — the same as the Octavia, and the distance from the floor to the ceiling in the rear row of seats is 982 mm (versus 980 mm for the Octavia). The trunk volume is 467 liters, and with the rear seats folded, it is 1410 liters.
The model will be available with a fully digital instrument panel Virtual Cockpit with a 10.25-inch diagonal, as well as a multimedia system with a 9.2-inch touchscreen display. The Scala became the first Skoda model for which software updates or, for example, new navigator maps will be automatically downloaded via a cloud service.

In addition, the owner will be able to open, close the car and control some functions using a special application on a smartphone. Finally, the model will receive a built-in eSIM microchip providing high-speed internet access with LTE network support.
The hatchback's engine lineup includes five engines. The base unit is a 95-horsepower three-cylinder engine with a displacement of one liter, working in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission. In addition, a motor of similar displacement producing 115 horsepower is available. For the top version, a 150-horsepower 1.5 turbo engine is offered.

The diesel range is represented by a 1.6-liter engine producing 115 hp and 250 N·m of torque. All units (except the base one) can work with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed robot with two clutches.
Also, the Scala will be available with a 90-horsepower 1.0-liter G-TEC engine that can consume both liquefied natural gas and gasoline. The transmission is a six-speed manual.
