The Patriot is equipped with a 2.7-liter gasoline engine ZMZ-PRO with an increased compression ratio and modified valve timing. In addition, the unit features a reinforced cylinder head, a double-row chain, as well as new pistons, valves, and camshafts. The engine now develops 150 hp and 235 Nm of torque, which is 15 hp and 18 Nm more than the old engine's output. Maximum traction is available at 2650 rpm instead of the previous 3900 rpm.

In addition, the five-speed manual transmission has also been modernized. In particular, the selectivity of the drive has been improved, and the range of travel and effort on the gearshift lever have been reduced. A damper has been installed on the lever itself to reduce vibration and noise levels.

Furthermore, engineers at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant have applied a new clutch with a driven disc featuring an idle damper. The effort on the pedal itself has decreased by 20% thanks to a new release spring.

The SUV also received upgraded steering with a different linkage and a damper from the UAZ Profi. From the same model, the Patriot got a front axle and open-type steering knuckles, which reduced the vehicle's turning radius by 0.8 meters.

Finally, the Patriot has acquired an improved suspension with new front and rear shock absorbers, leaf springs, and a different rear anti-roll bar. Among other updates: improved sound insulation, as well as new handles on the front and center pillars, making it easier for passengers to get in and out.
