Assembly of the new model has already been launched at the enterprise in Brussels, located in Belgium. The public debut of the crossover is scheduled for September 17, and it will take place as part of a special presentation in San Francisco.

In the brand's lineup, the E-Tron will be positioned between the Q5 and Q7 models. Its main rivals will be the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X.

The production version of the Audi E-Tron will feature a pair of electric motors with a combined output of 360 horsepower. However, when sport mode is activated for a short period, power can rise to over 400 horsepower. The crossover will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in six seconds, and the top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

Power for the motors will be provided by a battery pack with a capacity of 95 kWh — this will be enough to travel up to 400 kilometers without recharging. With a fast charging system of 150 kilowatts, the battery reserve can be replenished in just half an hour.

In addition, the car will be equipped with an advanced energy recuperation system. According to the German manufacturer, in more than 90% of cases when deceleration is required, the driver will not need to use the brake pedal: the electric car will be able to effectively reduce speed when the accelerator is sharply released.

As for the exterior, it repeats the look of the e-tron quattro concept shown in autumn 2015 in Frankfurt. This model will also become the first production car to use special cameras instead of traditional side mirrors.
