Production of the Defender ended in 2016, but for the model's anniversary it was decided to temporarily bring it back to the assembly line. The limited batch was created by the Land Rover Classic division.

The Works V8 70th Edition version will be offered in both three-door and five-door body styles. The anniversary modification can be recognized by the roof, radiator grille, and wheel arches in Santorini Black, as well as by contrasting 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the car is generously trimmed with Windsor Leather, equipped with Recaro sports seats, the Classic Infotainment System multimedia, and an automatic transmission selector from current Range Rover models.

Under the hood of the anniversary Defender is a five-liter V8 producing 405 hp and 515 Nm of torque. Working in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic, the engine allows the short-wheelbase version to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed limited to 170 km/h.
Of course, the suspension and brakes were thoroughly reworked to handle such a powertrain.
A total of 150 units of the Land Rover Defender Works V8 70th Edition will be produced. The price for this exclusive will be at least 150 thousand pounds sterling.
