The length of the Polo for the first time exceeded 4 meters and stretched to 4053 mm (+81 mm), the width reached 1751 mm (+69 mm), and the height slightly decreased to 1446 mm (-7 mm). The wheelbase has grown to 2564 mm (94 mm). Also significantly increased the trunk volume, which instead of 280 liters now holds 351.

In the cabin, the architecture of the front panel has been completely revised, now topped with an 8-inch media center monitor with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link interfaces, as well as digital instruments that can be customized to any taste.

In addition to standard trim levels, the new Polo has a "musical" Beats version, which boasts a 300-watt audio system of the same name and features brighter exterior and interior styling.

The engine lineup includes four versions of the compact turbo engine 1.0 TSI with power from 65 to 115 hp, as well as a 150-horsepower TSI with a volume of one and a half liters. Diesel engines are represented by a 1.6-liter TDI with 80 or 95 hp. A special place is occupied by the new modification of the Polo with a 90-horsepower 1.0 TGI engine that consumes methane.

At the top of the family traditionally flaunts the "charged" version GTI, equipped with a two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 200 hp.

The transmissions remain the same: five- and six-speed manuals, as well as a seven-speed DSG robot.

For the new Polo, a wide list of options is offered, including wireless smartphone charging, as well as blind spot monitoring and automatic braking functions.
