After the online presentation that was sparse on details, representatives of the Korean brand finally disclosed the full technical specifications of the new model.

The vehicle is based on a fresh ladder-type frame named Quad Frame. The Rexton now offers both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the latter designated as 4Tronik.
At launch, the SUV will be equipped exclusively with a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 181 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission manufactured by Mercedes.

Later, a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 225 hp and 350 Nm of torque will join the lineup. The choice of transmissions will also expand: customers will be offered a six-speed manual or an Aisin automatic transmission with the same number of gears.
The list of options for the new Rexton has been expanded with a range of modern safety systems: automatic braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and surround-view cameras.
