BMW plans to launch serial production and start sales of cars running on hydrogen fuel cells by 2021.
The head of the company, Harald Krüger, shared the Bavarian brand's plans, stating that their intention is to create large models on hydrogen fuel that will have a significant range.
Apparently, Krüger means hydrogen modifications of existing production cars, in particular, the flagship 7 Series sedan. Recall that a decade ago, the BMW Hydrogen 7 concept was created based on this model (pictured), but it never went into production.
