The new model is expected to compete for customers with the Audi A8, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and BMW 7-Series.

According to the brand's chief engineer, Travis Hester, the Cadillac CT6 will become the lightest and most maneuverable car in the class of large luxury sedans.

The car is built on a new lightweight Omega platform. In addition, its body is 64% aluminum. Therefore, the CT6 weighs only 1678 kg.

The car features LED headlights, a massive radiator grille, and a sloping roof. It also received an advanced multimedia system with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, and OnStar 4G LTE technology with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Optionally, the new car will offer a massage function for the seats and 10-inch displays for rear passengers, installed in the backrests of the front seats. In high trim levels, the sedan will be equipped with Bose Panaray audio with 34 speakers.

The engine lineup includes gasoline power units: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 265 hp, a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 with 335 hp, and a 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 400 hp. All engines work in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, the Cadillac CT6 is equipped with various active safety systems, including automatic braking, pedestrian recognition, surround view, and night vision.

Serial production of the model will be launched at the end of this year at the plant in Detroit. The sedan will go on sale in the markets of the Old and New World, China, Korea, and Japan.
