Shortly after a teenager got his driver's license, he was stopped by the police in Hemer for speeding. The device recorded 95 km/h at the permitted 50 km/h on this section.
Four of his friends were riding in the car with the young driver. As the police noted, the guy apparently wanted to impress his friends behind the wheel. "Some things stay with you forever, while others can be lost in just an hour," the officers said.
The offender will get his license back only after a month, and even then only after mandatory retraining courses. In addition, he will have to pay a fine of 200 euros, and the probationary period for a novice was extended from two to four years.
