The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights supported a draft law that provides for state compensation for the purchase of a car for Ukrainian defenders who have received a disability as a result of hostilities. This is reported by Ukravtoprom.
Compensation of UAH 120,000 for a car will initially be available to Group I veterans
The amount of state assistance for the purchase of a car should be UAH 120,000. The new mechanism is planned to be introduced in stages.
At the first stage, Ukrainian defenders with Group I disability as a result of hostilities will receive the right to compensation.
"The state will compensate 120,000 hryvnias for the purchase of a car," said Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Vitalii Kim.
Assistance for the purchase of a car will later be extended to Group II veterans
After the launch of the first stage, the state compensation mechanism is planned to be extended to veterans with Group II disability.
The relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada has already supported the corresponding draft law. However, payments have not yet started: the document must pass a vote in the parliamentary session hall.
