The reason for discontinuing the popular version was the biturbo diesel engine with 240 horsepower, which does not meet stricter environmental requirements. This engine emits 163 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which negatively affects the average figure across the entire lineup — starting this year, it must not exceed 95 grams. If this threshold is crossed, the manufacturer faces a substantial fine.

Before the "hot" crossover disappears from sale, Skoda will release a farewell Challenge series with a run of 300 cars. The Kodiaq RS Challenge will receive expanded equipment, including surround-view cameras and a three-zone climate control system.
