Externally, the crossover has received significant differences from the Yaris hatchback, but the modular TNGA-B platform is common to both models. In terms of its dimensions, the Yaris Cross is positioned between the regular Yaris and the CH-R crossover. The length of the new model is 4180 mm (+240), width – 1765 mm (+20), and height – 1560 mm (+90). The ground clearance of the crossover is 170 mm (+30)

The interior of the Yaris Cross differs only in the design of the instrument panel and a slightly modified climate control unit. In addition, the ability to fold the rear row of seats in a 40:20:40 ratio has been added.
The hybrid crossover has a 116-horsepower powertrain that combines a 1.5-liter turbo engine, an electric motor, and lithium-ion batteries.

The Yaris Cross is also equipped with the Toyota AWD-i all-wheel drive system with an electric motor on the rear axle, which helps the crossover during start and on slippery roads.
The production of the Toyota Yaris Cross will be carried out together with the hatchback at the plant in France, but the details have not yet been disclosed. Toyota intends to sell at least 150 thousand off-road Yaris models annually. Prices for the model have not yet been announced.
