During a survey conducted by Consumer Reports, leaders and outsiders among car multimedia systems were identified. More than 60 thousand drivers took part in the study, and only 56% of them stated that they were completely satisfied with the operation of their media complexes. The assessment was carried out according to three key parameters: music playback quality, convenience of making calls, and navigation functionality.
The first place in the ranking went to Tesla — 86% of owners of these electric vehicles highly appreciated the capabilities of the IVI system. Next came BMW with the iDrive multimedia complex, which supports gesture control — it was praised by 80% of owners of Bavarian cars. The top three was closed by Hyundai's premium sub-brand Genesis: its Genesis Display system received positive reviews from 75% of respondents.
The outsiders, on the contrary, were Japanese manufacturers. Thus, the AcuraLink II multimedia system installed on Acura cars satisfied only 52% of survey participants. The penultimate place was taken by Honda with the HondaLink complex, equipped with two displays — the result was 50%. Lexus closes the list: the Remote Touchpad system was approved by only 46% of respondents.
